Statement on Super Bowl Parade Shooting

We are heartbroken by the Super Bowl Parade shooting in Kansas City. Words are not enough to convey both our deep sadness and our anger at this senseless act.

We are here with you, and we are thinking of all the victims and their families today. We are grateful for the work of our brave first responders and citizens who jumped into action.

We are dedicated to creating a safer Kansas and a safer world for all.

Thoughts and prayers aren’t enough. We cannot allow ourselves to become numb to these frequent and escalating acts of violence, and we call on our elected officials to take action to ensure people can live, work, and worship without the continuing fear of senseless gun violence.
