KDP Hires New Executive Director

TOPEKA –– After a months-long exhaustive statewide and national search process, and just before the close of Chair Jeanna Repass’ first 100 days in office, the Kansas Democratic Party is excited to announce the hiring of a new Executive Director, Andriy Bilyk.

Andriy (Andy) Bilyk has worked on and with campaigns, around the country, and at almost every level from municipal races to President. Andy brings a wealth of experience as an organizer, field director, campaign manager, and as an advisor to Democratic candidates running in competitive environments. Andy has a track record of helping Democrats win in battleground states, including helping Wisconsin Assembly Democrats pick up seats in the challenging 2020 Presidential cycle. Andy is a proud husband, father, and graduate of Xavier University.

“I’m excited to join the strong team that Chair Repass is assembling at the Kansas Democratic Party. I look forward to working with the Chair in helping to build the party infrastructure that will help re-elect Congresswoman Sharice Davids and elect more Democrats to work with Governor Laura Kelly to stop Republicans in the statehouse from standing in the way of her work on behalf of everyday Kansans. I can’t wait to get to work with and on behalf of Democrats across the state.”

Chairwoman Jeanna Repass was intentional about hiring the new Executive Director through a process that was inclusive, collaborative and transparent, giving thoughtful considerations to the needs of the party with the sole intention of hiring the person best suited to elect more Democrats in Kansas. Andy has experience electing Democrats in states – like Kansas – where Republicans have used their legislative power to undercut working families, defund schools and attack individual freedoms. We are so excited that Andy is bringing his experience in organizing and managing challenging campaigns in competitive political environments to Kansas.

Chair of the 3rd Congressional District Democrats, Richard Nobles said, “I was honored to be a part of the process that Chairwoman Repass convened to select a new Executive Director of the KDP. This process held the virtue of integrity at the highest level, and I look forward to seeing the organization grow and continue in such a positive direction as the KDP recruits and builds the infrastructure for the 2024 elections so that we can break the Republican supermajority in the Kansas State Legislature.”

KDP Chairwoman, Jeanna Repass said, “When I was elected Chair, I knew that finding the right Executive Director was going to be critical to growing the Democratic Party across Kansas.” Repass continued by saying, “I performed a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) of the KDP and worked with key strategists and advisers to develop a process that would lead us to the right person to be the next Executive Director of the Kansas Democratic Party. Andy Bilyk is that person.”

Andy officially started on Monday June 5, 2023
