NEW POLL: 58 PERCENT OF KANSANS APPROVE OF GOVERNOR KELLY
TOPEKA, KS – A new poll from Morning Consult has found that 58 percent of Kansans – Democrats, Independents, and Republicans – approve of Governor Laura Kelly’s job performance. This is the first poll of Governor Kelly’s second term, and demonstrates an upward climb in her approval rating. The poll also found that Governor Kelly is one of the most popular Democratic governors in the country.
“Governor Kelly has been a fierce advocate for Kansas schools, families, and businesses. It’s no surprise to see that resonating with people across the state,” said KDP Chair Jeanna Repass. “From fully funding our public schools every year since taking office, cutting taxes for Kansas families, and landing the largest economic development projects in our state’s history, the people of Kansas are feeling and seeing the impact of Governor Kelly’s common-sense leadership every day.”
In her first term, Governor Kelly rehabilitated our state’s economy, education, and infrastructure systems after years of mismanagement. She has made sure Kansas public schools are fully funded every year since taking office, has successfully landed some of the largest economic development projects in our state’s history, including Panasonic’s manufacturing plant in De Soto and Integra Technologies in Wichita, and has stopped the practice of stealing from the Kansas Highway Fund, starting or completing over 1,000 infrastructure projects that make essential updates to our roads, bridges, and highways.
